Radishes

Radishes and Rockets

When Astronauts travel into space, they need food. There are no Restaurants on the moon or in Space for that matter! No Wendy's, Burger King, McDonalds, T.G.I. Fridays, none of that! That is why we have this option. The International Space Station, the people who depends upon supplies ferried from Earth by the Space Shuttle and the Russian spacecraft.

On the other hand, on longer expeditions to quest of NASA's mission to the moon, Mars and beyond, successfully producing food in space will be essential to supplementing their prepackaged diet. And the unrecognised radish, which gets very little praise, is pretty much a phenonamal participant for the kind of experiments that will help our astronauts feed themselves on long space missions.
