Easter (religious) is to celebrate when Jesus was crucified, which was Good Friday.

On the third day he arose from the dead and ascended into heaven. The third day was on Easter Sunday.

Thats why Christians celebrate it. On easter we dress up all fancy and then we go to church. Then we eat dinner and that's pretty much it.
