書き初め大会(Kakizome-taikai)
A large gathering for producing the first calligraphy of the New Year

３年生からやる書き初め大会です。

今年、５年生は、「心に太陽」という字を書きました。

冬休みも練習してとてもきれいな字が書けました。

みんなしんけんに書いていました。

Kakizoke is Japanese custom. We try to write using brush.

This year we 5th grade students wrote the letters "Kokoro ni taiyoh". It means "Have a hope in your mind!"

All children wrote in earnest and were able to write very well.
